Dainty Blue

Dainty Blue is an observation on how we each have many sides to our personalities. Which is the real one? Is it the one we see in the mirror? Or the projection of ourselves that we see in the world? The words on the piece “see one; love another” are a reminder to strive to see one’s self through different lenses and to accept and love all the facets in the reflection.

This piece started with an antique double mirror. The shelf is built using the broken pieces of a vintage plate and the bird is embellished with hundreds of glass beads and crystals. Vintage doll eyes, jewelry findings and vintage ephemera are used to complete the assemblage.
